2009 Cyclocross Clinic

Please join Jeremy Powers, Fulcrum Coaching and JBV Coaching for a weekend of 'cross goodness.

Friday, Aug 21st is a meet and greet at The Bike Doctor in Waldorf, MD from 7p-9:30. This is free and open to the public.

Saturday, Aug 22nd is a full day 'cross clinic at Lake Fairfax Park in Virginia, aka Reston, the final round of the MAC and costs $125.

Cyclocross is a unique form of bicycle racing that not only requires you to be in great physical shape but also requires a unique skill set. Learning and knowing these skills will help you improve your racing this cyclocross season!!!

The clinic will cover the following subjects: Overall review of unique cyclocross concepts, Mounting, Dismounting, Carrying/Shouldering, Off-Cambers, How to evaluate a race course, Clipping in quickly, Making bike changes, Bunny hopping: when, where, and how, Equipment and tire selection, Specific questions from riders, and Prizes to the most improved riders of the weekend!

The clinic is held rain or shine but will be canceled if there are thunderstorms.

In addition to learning valuable cyclocross skills from Jeremy, Chris, and Dan lunch will be provided (Chipotle).

Jeremy Powers is a professional cyclist with the Cannondale / CycloCrossWorld.com professional cyclocross team and the Jelly Belly professional road team. Last season Jeremy found his way onto 13 UCI cyclocross podium appearances and dominated the United States cyclocross scene in 2008. In addition to racing domestically Jeremy has spent the last 5 seasons training and racing in Europe. Jeremy has represented the United States at the cyclocross world championships six times. Dan Tille is the owner and president of Fulcrum Coaching, has been racing road, mtb, and cyclocross since 2000. He is currently working on his Masters degree in Applied Performance Physiology and coaches as well as races in the Mid Atlantic/DC area.

Chris Mayhew is the associate coach for JBV Coaching and has been racing road, mtb and 'cross since 1994. Experienced in both the Ohio Valley and Mid Atlantic he's learned a lot of lessons the hard way so you don't have to.
